This season, Southwest AMBUCS would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the amazing therapists and generous sponsors who make an incredible impact in the lives of men, women, and children through our AmTryke program! Because of you countless AmTrykes are given each year, empowering individuals with disabilities across our hometown. Over $200,000 annually is awarded in scholarships to support therapists who dedicate their careers to helping others. Together, we're building a future of greater independence and possibility. October flew by but before we move forward we'd like to look back by Celebrating the Gift of Mobility! AmTrykes are more than just bikes—they’re a symbol of independence and possibility! Since our founding, Southwest AMBUCS has proudly donated more than 1,850 AmTrykes to children with disabilities right here in our community. With each trike, we help a child experience the freedom of riding and the joy of movement. Join us in celebrating this milestone as we continue to change lives, one AmTryke at a time. This month 3 year-old's Aaliyah & Abel along with 2 year-old Ellie all received the AM-10. Gobble Wobble Turkey Drive! It’s that time of year again, and our annual "Gobble Wobble" turkey drive is back with one goal: feeding as many people as we can this Thanksgiving! For every $100 donation, you’ll receive a mouth-watering cured and smoked turkey from Ede’s Meats, AND we’ll donate an uncooked turkey to one of our partner charities to help spread Thanksgiving cheer to those in need! These turkeys also make perfect gifts for business owners looking to treat their teams. PLUS, for every 10 turkeys you order, you’ll receive 2 bonus turkeys as a thank-you for going the extra mile! Shoulders Together we're changing Lives! We're off to the races this month with our monthly AmTryke giveaway. - 4 year-old Antonio received the AM-16, his tryke was sponsored by the Ted Higgins Memorial. - 2 year-old David received the AM-10, his tryke was sponsored by the Lisa Magee Memorial. - 11 year-old Kyle received the AM-16, his tryke was sponsored by Willow Creek Overhead Door. We wrapped-up August with a special guest. We'd like to thank the Amarillo Fire Department's Fire Chief Jason Mays for stopping by. We're truly blessed to play a role in the development of these amazing kids. This last week, Dr. Jill Gulizia sponsored Four AmTrykes!! Her unbelievably selfless act will immediately change the lives of little Koa, Braysen, and Elijah. The fourth Tryke was donated to RehabVisions Canyon.
