At Southwest, we know how important it is to put our #HeartInAction ?????? Our Employees have been volunteering with the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Meals on Wheels program for nearly 20 years. Over the years, Southwest Employees have loaded up cars and blitzed Dallas County, delivering more than 16,000 meals (on 1,200 routes) to seniors and house-bound clients. This year, in honor of our annual Heart in Action month, 279 Southwest Employees volunteered their time to serve more than 900 meals across Dallas County!

We were thrilled to be part of this unforgettable proposal, where our amazing Crew helped create a magical moment for Yazmin and her fiancé, Louis. From the smiles of fellow passengers to the cheers that filled the cabin, it was a beautiful reminder that love knows no bounds—even at 30,000 feet! Here’s to many more journeys together! ?????? #SouthwestHeart

"Southwest above the rest!" - Braxton's mom ?????? Three-year-old Braxton was excited about his first flight, but didn't know he would get the VIK (Very Important Kid) treatment! As soon as our Employees in Midland realized they had a first-time-flyer in their midst, they made sure to create memories he and his family would not soon forget. Braxton and his mom were greeted by their Captain when they boarded and got to explore the Flight Deck; Braxton couldn't stop talking about it! All the excitement resulted in a wonderful mid-flight nap for our new friend. See ya next time, Braxton!

We’re raising a (cold) cup to cheers the launch of our new cup made with bamboo for inflight cold beverages and stir stick made from 100% FSC-certified birch wood. As part of our Nonstop to Net Zero by 2050 plan, we’re working toward our goal to reduce single-use plastics from inflight service by 50% by weight by 2025 and eliminate, where feasible, by 2030. Fun facts: ?? The new products will help us work toward our goal to reduce our annual single-use plastics by more than 1.5 million pounds. ?? Made from 100% FSC-certified birch wood, the new stir stick maintains Southwest’s iconic Heart branding. ?? This change could eliminate 22 million plastic stir sticks—equivalent to the length of over 67,000 Boeing 737-800 aircraft! Our Employees are always looking for ways to wow others with legendary Hospitality, so when a recent Flight Crew realized their own First Officer was going to hear wedding bells in the near future, they jumped into action! First Officer Warren was flying his last trip prior to his wedding when he was surprised with an impromptu celebration. During the flight, our Flight Attendants collected wedding well-wishes and upon landing, Passengers cheered for the soon-to-be newlywed as he was crowned with his very own "love is in the air" crown. Ahead of our 2024 Orlando Spirit Party, we collaborated with United Against Poverty Inc. Orlando and the Student Conservation Association for our annual Spirit Party Volunteer Project. More than 150 Southwest Employees and their guests put their Heart in action before heading to the Spirit Party. These Employees engaged in purposeful activities like packing 500 disaster relief kits, filling 100 sandbags to protect the community from future flooding and storm surges, and beautifying a local campus with refreshed flower beds and a stunning centerpiece mural.
