We are thrilled and humbled to report that South Shore Hospital, part of South Shore Health, recently received a remarkable $5.3 million donation from the McKim Family Foundation! This generous gift will support a project to double the capacity of South Shore Hospital’s West Unit, a short stay observation and inpatient unit. The expanded observation bed capacity will allow patients to be moved out of a critical emergency care bed to a space more appropriate for their level of care, helping ensure more efficient and appropriate care for all. “This gift will help bolster and expand upon the resources we need to respond swiftly to the most critical care needs of our community,” said Allen L. In July, the South Shore Country Club Women's Golf Association held their annual Pink Ribbon Tournament, which benefits the Breast Care Center at the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center at South Shore Health. Recently, Christine of the SSCCWGA presented a donation check of $13.565.83 to Jennifer Croes, Executive Director of the Cancer Center! We have a terrific team of certified nurse midwives (CNMs) across South Shore Health, including at South Shore Hospital and The Women’s Center of South Shore Medical Center. Our midwives are compassionate, expert caregivers who focus on providing empowering and safe childbirth experiences to all patients. Along with supporting patients through labor and birth, our midwives also offer prenatal care, postpartum care, and educational support to expecting and new parents. Oct. 6-12 is National Primary Care Week, the perfect time to celebrate all of the wonderful primary care providers at South Shore Medical Center! SSMC features primary care physicians and advanced practice clinicians (APCs) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics. Primary care services are available at three SSMC practices: Kingston, Norwell, and Quincy.
