As the prime contractor, The Brandt Companies, a Southland Industries company, handled the mechanical and electrical replacement of two chillers, and two pumps, along with a complete re-piping of the chiller yard. Completed last month, this upgrade enhances campus operations by replacing outdated, inefficient chillers with high-performance equipment. From rendering to reality, The Monarch San Antonio draws inspiration from the Monarch butterfly's migration through the region. Upon completion in 2026, this newly constructed 17-story boutique hotel will feature 200 rooms, gathering spaces, retail stores, and an array of dining options. Our San Antonio Division is performing the mechanical and plumbing scope of work for this iconic project. The mechanical scope includes a sophisticated chilled water system that connects to San Antonio water systems' centralized cooling loop. Two plate and frame heat exchangers decouple the building loop, supplying air handling units, fan coil units, dedicated outdoor air system units, and kitchen equipment. Our San Antonio Division partners with local and municipal facilities across the region to support service projects, including a recent service maintenance contract with DeWitt County. As part of this partnership, Adam Fanning, Service Account Manager, was asked by Sheriff Carl Bowen to investigate the existing water heaters in the DeWitt County Jail. During this assessment, Adam determined that only four of the existing ten water heaters were operational, creating an urgent need for repairs due to potential leaks. The remaining six had failed due to poor water quality, which clogged filters and corroded the lines. Our involvement in this project was highlighted in the local newspaper, DeWitt County Today.
