We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Winnipeg North End Sewage Treatment Plant (“NEWPCC”) Biosolids Facilities Upgrade project. Working as a JV with Aecon Group Inc. and MWH, Southland holds a 33.3% share of the development phase contract which will be added to its backlog in the third quarter of 2024. Upon successful completion of this phase, the implementation phase will begin to finalize the design and execute construction. The scope of work includes the design and construction of a new biosolids facility, as well as modifications to the existing primary clarification. Southland is also currently working with Aecon and the City of Winnipeg to deliver the NEWPCC Headworks Facilities Upgrade project. #BuildingGreatThings

From the AB Archives: 48 years ago, AB completed the Independence Bridge project in Bay City, Michigan. AB was responsible for the fabrication and erection of the 185’ movable span for this 1,207’ double-leaf rolling bascule bridge. The Independence Bridge replaced the former Belinda Street Bascule Bridge and carries the Harry S. Truman Parkway over the Saginaw River.
