Our Newnan team was busy in the community again, sponsoring the construction and decoration of a bedroom in a new house built as part of the Burch Avenue Affordable Housing Initiative! This new house is designed to provide safe, affordable housing for individuals on their recovery journey. Having a stable home is critical on the journey to recovery, and the Newnan team did a fantastic job setting up the bedroom in this new home. Team members from our Huntsville and Birmingham branches led a financial literacy class last week to 4th and 5th graders at McDonnell Elementary in Huntsville. It was a bittersweet day in our Roanoke office last week as our own Diane Boyd retired after a 25 year banking career! Tara Davis from our Newnan office was recently invited to the Newnan Presbyterian Church to speak on Elder Abuse and Fraud to a group that gathered to hear from her. The group welcomed her with a lunch and receptive ears, and several of the attendees even shared their own stories of being victims of fraud.
