New Hire Orientations ?? Record-Keeping ?? Other Responsibilities as Needed. Qualifications: ? Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety (or related studies) – Preferred ? Applicants with non-university safety education/training/certifications/licenses will be considered. ? 0-3 Years of Safety Experience and/or Related Industry Experience (entry to mid-level position) ? Valid Driver’s License with Clean MVR ? When time is of the essence, Southern Lifting and Hoisting rises to the challenge. Recently, we were called in on short notice to tackle a complex job in South Texas. The task? Trans-load and transport a 294,000 lb. transformer to a nearby Solar Farm. Faced with a tight deadline, extreme Texas heat (115-degree heat index!), soft ground conditions, and relentless mud, our team got to work. With the entire working area needing matting and mosquitoes swarming in the repurposed rice field, this project tested our team. The live substation and narrow approach to the transformer pad further complicated the work, but our crews continued on. We deployed a FAYMONVILLE Trailers to the MAX Dual-Lane Transporter to move the transformer from the railcar, carefully navigating the difficult terrain. At the site, we executed a flawless installation using the HT500 Hydra-Slide Slide System, trans-loading from the Dual Laner to a 10-Line Goldhofer PST/SL-E (provided by Deep South) after arrival at the location and then used the PST to move it into the substation. With the help of trusted partners REEB RIGGING LLC, Deep South Crane and Rigging, LLC, LGH USA, and Yak Mat, the entire project was completed without a hitch. Thanks to the exceptional teamwork between Southern Lifting and Southern Transport, the client's schedule was met perfectly, enabling other contractors to begin their work to ready the transformer for service.
