?? Steel & Aluminum Tariffs – What You Need to Know The U.S. government has announced new tariffs on steel and aluminum, set to take effect on either March 4th or March 12th. With the U.S. importing approximately 20% of its steel and 30% of its aluminum, these tariffs will have a swift and significant impact on pricing. While over 90% of our materials come from domestic suppliers, this will not shield us from price increases. Steel and aluminum are globally traded commodities, priced per pound on the world market. Tariffs serve to insulate a national market, meaning that when tariffs hit imported metals, domestic producers follow suit, raising prices. Based on historical trends, we expect price hikes of around 25% across the board on both materials. We are already seeing early signs of this shift: steel futures have risen 5.9% in just two days following the announcement. The ripple effect will spread across industries, impacting everything from infrastructure to consumer goods. We are actively monitoring these developments and tracking cost fluctuations to understand their full impact. Our focus is on mitigating the effects as much as possible—working closely with our supply chain, assessing pricing strategies, and keeping a pulse on market movements. #tariffs #steel #aluminum
