The Orange County Register was proud to sponsor the Orange County Business Council's 30th anniversary Board Installation Dinner. Ron Hasse, Frank Pine, Todd Harmonson, Gordon Clark, Samantha Gowen and Michele Cardon attended. Inspiring words from new board chair Rebecca Hall, APR, which tickled the guests at our table -- Carly Murphy and Jeffrey Howard of Chapman University. Rebecca is a proud Chapman alum. Kudos to Jeff Ball, Lauren Martin, Lizz Mishreki, APR and the whole OCBC team for an inspired evening.

Fantastic work by SCNG Advertising and Orange County Register today partnering with The Oppenheim Group, Jack's Surfboards and others to collect donations in Newport Beach to send to LA fire victims and first responders. Newport Beach Police Department assisted with some heavy lifting as cars full of donations drove in and walk ups were greeted warmly by Jennifer Davis of SCNG and Alexandra Hall of Oppenheim Group who spearheaded the drive effort. Donations will be accepted at Oppenheim's NB office at 3140 E Coast Hwy until 4 p.m. today. Great effort for a great cause.

Thank you to our SCNG journalists -- and colleagues across all local media -- who are working tirelessly to cover the California wildfires by providing news, updates and context. This special section ran Sunday across SCNG publications. You can also hear from our staff photographer Will Lester, who grew up in Altadena. Will discussed his experience documenting the fires on FOX 11 Los Angeles - KTTV "Good Day LA" with Bob DeCastro. https://lnkd.in/gx8ZtN6X

Drew is no stranger to our photo team having freelanced for the Orange County Register and other SCNG publications since 2008. As a Brooks Institute of Photography graduate, he brings a tremendous amount of skill to our news, sports and feature photography team.

To our SCNG colleagues and friends in local media across Southern California who are covering the horrific wildfires, thank you for your tireless work providing vital community updates and, importantly, stay safe out there. Thoughts are also with all the first responders and our neighbors whose families, homes or businesses have been impacted.
