The Southern Arizona Environmental Management Society Inc. (SAEMS) is the premier environmental organization in the state, providing a forum for people employed in the environmental and safety industries to network, learn, and contribute to the community. SAEMS was created: To actively promote awareness, education, and understanding of environmental issues To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information between private enterprises, government, industry, and education and research institutions SAEMS currently has over 200 members from private industry, regulatory agencies, and environmental service companies, who represent a broad cross section of interests. SAEMS encourages you to become a corporate or individual member! The monthly luncheon meetings present speakers who address a wide range of environmental topics, such as habitat restoration, water resources, waste and hazmat programs, regulatory agency updates, corporate programs, sustainability, emergency planning, energy efficiency programs, air quality, etc.

TEAM UP TO CLEAN UP THIS WEEK - Make a difference with neighborhood volunteers as they work to beautify Tucson by picking up trash, collecting carts, and clearing green waste from around the city. The next cleanup will be in the Dodge Flower Community on Friday, Sept. 13, from 8-10 a.m. Meet at Wings of Freedom Apartments, 2425 N. Haskell Dr. Be sure to fill out the RSVP form linked below and bring a filled water bottle, hat, sunglasses, closed-toe and sturdy shoes, long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy gloves have them. TFD released this announcement and 2023 Annual Report about their program. It's a great read to learn more about TFD and their programs. TUCSON FIRE DEPARTMENT'S LATEST ANNUAL REPORT OUTLINES ACCOMPLISHMENTS?- The Tucson Fire Department (TFD) recently released its comprehensive 2023 Annual Report. Not only did TFD respond to a record-breaking 103,500+ incidents in 2023, it also was out in the community educating residents on matters of life safety, inspecting buildings, reviewing new construction plans for fire code compliance, helping connect high-utilizers of the 911 system with the proper services, training new firefighters, and much more.
