The Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) is a nonprofit membership organization that serves twelve states thoughout the Southeast, plus Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. SEMC fosters professionalism, mutual support, and communication among its members and the larger museum community.

The Native American Basic Grants (NAB) program assists Native American Tribes in establishing, sustaining, and improving library services and operations with their communities. As information needs change, Tribal libraries must be able to serve as knowledge and resource centers to benefit their users and the wellness of their communities. Attention Educators! Have you heard about the Smithsonian's Democracy in Dialogue Virtual Exchange Program? Virtual Exchange Facilitators learn how to collaboratively design and lead place-based investigations with students to better understand how hometown communities played a role in 250 years of the American experiment! Share and reflect with another community in another corner of the country. Celebrate the commonalities and the differences. Democracy in Dialogue is designed to support educators, who work with middle and high school youth, ages 13 - 18, from across the United States and its territories. Educators can come from any disciplinary background, including social studies, civics, language arts, environmental science, and other humanities classes. The program also welcomes student support professionals, like media center specialists, librarians, and curriculum leads, as well as informal and out-of-school educators. What is crucial is the educator’s ability to recruit a minimum of 15 students to participate in the exchange program. The application period for Cohort 2 (40 facilitators) is now open.
