Raffle tickets for SERCAP's popular state-themed raffle baskets are now for sale online at https://lnkd.in/eB6Dv-ix. Each SERCAP state office created a specially themed basket for the raffle. This week we are featuring the Georgia basket! The Georgia basket is perfect for the booklover in your life, who enjoys a nice glass of wine or cocktail while reading! The books included in this basket were written by Georgia authors, and all of the beverages are produced in Georgia! This basket includes a bottle of red table wine from Habersham Vineyards in Helen, GA, two bottles of Duncan Creek Georgia Muscadine Wine (red and white) from Chateau Elan Vineyards in Braselton, GA, and one bottle of Georgia Bourbon Snow Cream and one bottle of Georgia Select Rye Whiskey from Moonrise Distillery in Rabun County, GA. The books included in this basket are The Color Purple, by Alice Walker; Wise Blood, by Flannery O’Conner; The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd; Pieces of Her, by Karin Slaughter; A Full Life, Reflections at 90, by Jimmy Carter, and Walking With The Wind, a Memoir of the Movement, by John Lewis. Winning tickets will be drawn at the Water Is Life Celebratory Banquet at the Hotel Roanoke on April 10, 2025. You do not need to be present to win! SERCAP is honoring the memory of longtime SERCAP board of directors member and former board chairperson, Mr. Terry D. Lewis, Sr. Mr. Lewis led with compassion and dedication throughout his many years serving on the SERCAP Board of Directors. His leadership will be felt throughout SERCAP's programs and outreach efforts for many years to come, and he will be dearly missed. Mr. Lewis passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 in Hopewell, Virginia. A Celebration of Life Service will be held today, January 31, 2025, at noon at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Surry, Virginia. Interment will be held on February 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia. SERCAP offers our sincere condolences to the Lewis family during this difficult time. Everyone at SERCAP will remember Terry fondly, especially his enjoyment of SERCAP's annual Water is Life Celebratory Banquet.
