And Toy Fair is OVER!!! I had a great time seeing so many industry friends and partners, as well as the honor of hosting the Creative Factor and speaking at Toy Fair University, not once, but twice! First, on Toy Package Design, and again as the moderator for the United Inventors Association Toy Hub Inventor Relations Panel, alongside industry rockstars Dougal Grimes, Angus Walker, and Scott Landsbaum. As well as shooting some amazing segments for the upcoming season of?Toys of Our Lives?with the great folks over at Drake Media and CBS!!!! ...but my favorite part of Toy Fair was the Student Congress! More than 400 college students from schools including the Rhode Island School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, Drexel University, Otis College of Art and Design, and more came to learn about job opportunities in our industry. It was an honor to share the stage with industry legends David Dwyer (Lego), Brittany Smith, MBA, LSSBB (Walmart), Kristin McKay (Hasbro), and Josslynne Welch (Litzky PR). A special thanks to our amazing moderator, Kathleen Campisano (Beacon Media), as well as Jacqueline Retzer, Kimberly Carcone, Emily M. Brown and Greg Ahearn from The Toy Association for making it all happen. The energy and enthusiasm from the students were incredible, and it reminded me of the bright future ahead for our industry. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event! ...and OH YEAH, it was exciting to be nominated for TOTY again. This time Outdoor Toy of the Year with ABetter Design Company.
