???? A Tree with a Space Story! Students at John Sedgwick Middle School, alongside Science teacher Pete Darragh, recently planted a Moon Tree—a Douglas fir seedling that traveled 1.3 million miles aboard NASA's Artemis I mission in late 2022! ?? This tree represents decades of space exploration and scientific progress, as it’s part of the first group of Moon Trees since the Apollo 14 mission! This remarkable tree will grow with our students for years to come, reminding us of the incredible potential in science and exploration. Thank you, Mr. Darragh, for your dedication to science education. Congratulations to Jeff Winn,?who was named a grand prize winner of the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools @HFTforschools Prize for Teaching Excellence this morning. Winn,?a construction and carpentry teacher at South Kitsap High School, won $70,000 for his program and $30,000 for himself.
