Innovative Green Tech at Work in Our Port! Earlier this week, the Green Winds docked at Broadway while crews offloaded an impressive 48,890 tons of slag. This vessel is no ordinary ship—it’s equipped with the Wind Challenger, a cutting-edge device developed by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Oshima Shipbuilding. The Wind Challenger converts wind energy into propulsive force using telescoping hard sails. With this technology, the vessel is expected to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, marking an exciting step toward sustainable shipping practices! It was inspiring to witness how innovation is shaping maritime transport's future. South Jersey Ports with Two Busy Vessels at Balzano Terminal! We started 2025 strong with exciting activity at the Balzano Terminal, where crews worked two impressive vessels: ? CL Sha He ? Discharged 53,000+ metric tons of gypsum from Altamira, Spain. ? Berge Galdhopiggen ? Discharged 21,700 metric tons of steel coils from Ijmuiden, Netherlands. These shipments highlighted South Jersey Ports' dedication to facilitating efficient cargo handling.
