The South Florida Section of the PGA of America is an association of golf professionals whose mission is to promote interest, participation and enjoyment in the game of golf; establish and maintain professional standards or practice; and enhance the well-being of golf professionals. Approximately 1,850 members and apprentices are employed at over 475 facilities in the South Florida region, currently ranking the South Florida Section the second-largest Section of PGA Professionals amongst all 41 PGA Sections in the United States.

The 2024 Skins and Fins event, in conjunction with the JW Marriot Marco Island, The Rookery, and Hammock Bay, generated $50,000 to support the SFPGA Foundation! This unique event consisted of a day of fishing followed by a day of golf, all benefitting PGA HOPE and the Folds of Honor Foundation. PGA HOPE Graduate Ernest Tornabell and SFPGA Executive Director Geoff Lofstead had an opportunity to share with the nearly 80 participants the impact of not just HOPE but the game of golf on charities worldwide. Special thanks to all those involved, especially to Anthony Schmid, PGA Director of Golf at Hammock Bay, and Scott Lien, PGA Director of Golf at the Rookery!
