It's been an exciting few weeks for the SDDA! Two of our graduates from the Commercial Drivers License Program have embarked on their careers at PepsiCo. A big shoutout to Nikki Woods, Mari Roberts, CTP, and R. Buddy Savage Jr, CTL for their ongoing support. This Friday, we're thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our Accelerated Drivers Licence Program in collaboration with Bonton Farms. A special thank you to Campisi's Restaurants and Kim Hill for their generosity towards this deserving group. Our experience at the American Trucking Associations annual conference in Nashville was truly remarkable. We are grateful for the support of the Trucking Cares Foundation, American Trucking Associations and Andrew Boyle. A big highlight was being interviewed by Dave Nemo broadcast live on SiriusXM sharing the impactful work of the South Dallas Driving Academy in our community. What was formally a barrier has now become an economic pathway. Armando Simmons Chris Petersen, CTP Rebecca M. Scott Turner. #truckingindustry #workforcedevelopment #sdda

The SDDA is blessed with incredible partners like the Trucking Cares Foundation and the American Trucking Associations. It’s because of their support we get the privilege to remove the barriers to careers in trucking. The SDDA’s two program components, Accelerated Drivers License Program and Commercial License Program exist because of the generosity of the TCF and ATA. Thanks to our founder Von Minor and to all of our partners: Chris Petersen, CTP Jonathan Fechner Rick Wyman Community Engagement & Opportunity Council Armando Simmons https://lnkd.in/gffd8sq8

We are so blessed to share our North Texas Giving Day opportunity with you! The Lord has given us wonderful partners to kick-start our vision. As we take our program to the next level, we’re asking you to help us. ? Our goal is to raise $25,000 during our North Texas Giving Day initiative!?This fundraising goal will cover the entire program cost for 12 eager students participating in our Commercial License Pathway Program (CLPP), changing the course of their future and the future of their families for generations to come.?Donations made today through Thursday, September 19th will be attributed to our North Texas Giving Day initiative. If?you have already donated to South Dallas Driving?Academy, or if you’re not able to give at this time, please share this post to your social media connections. Our programs effectively eradicate generational poverty. The proof is in the pudding! The graduates from our most recent CLPP graduating class have all secured jobs or were?promoted following graduation.?We are so proud of all our students and look forward to tracking their progress. Huge thanks to our partner CDL Connection Dallas for preparing our students to excel in the classroom and on the road.
