The South Dakota State University Alumni Association fosters a spirit of loyalty and community among its alumni, students, and friends. The SDSU Alumni Association is an independent, not-for-profit organization, non dues association that welcomes all graduates, former students, faculty, staff and friends of South Dakota State, as well as students, to be SDSU Alumni Association members. We strive to connect alumni to SDSU and each other, through the promotion of the University and by providing valuable benefits, services and resources to members. The SDSU Alumni Association embraces each one of its more than 90,000 alumni and friends who are proud to be Jackrabbits. We are a highly diverse and global family that is an influential force in both keeping STATES traditions alive and advancing South Dakota State University.

Investing in the next generation of ag journalists —?I was recently asked by South Dakota State University Alumni Association to mentor an aspiring ag broadcaster. And it turns out it’s one I'd met before! Ella Stiefvater interned with KRVN and the Rural Radio Network and even did ag updates on NTV News. What a small world to connect with an SDSU student who wants to work in my field and find that we've been on similar paths, including in Nebraska. I love telling the story of the American farmer and helping amplify their voices through the media which is something Ella is also passionate about. It's been fun to connect with a fellow Jackrabbit! She was recently up for National FFA Officer and I'm excited to see where her career takes her!

Yesterday kicked off another year of the mentoring program through the South Dakota State University Alumni Association! There are 169 student mentee/alumni mentor matches in just the third year of the program. Wow! What a testament to the power and passion of Jackrabbit nation! ???? Honored to be selected to serve again this year and excited to learn and grow with my new mentee, Addisyn Sargent! Kudos to Travis Jensen and the team at the Alumni Association for their efforts! Go Big. Go Blue. Go JACKS! ??
