Advocacy organization working to make the state government more small business friendly to promote a sustainable economy
关于我们
The SC Small Business Chamber of Commerce, a statewide advocacy organization working to make state government more small business friendly. The Small Business Chamber is both non-partisan and non-profit. We do not endorse candidates for public office nor contribute to political campaigns. We are not affiliated with any other chamber of commerce. Since our beginning in February of 2000, we strive to represent the general interests of small business in state government, although from time to time we do take on local and federal issues. Taxes, health insurance, workforce development, economic development, energy, utility rates, workers’ compensation insurance, and government procurement policies are some of the issues we are addressing to benefit small business. Our BuySC program encourages South Carolinians to make purchases from locally-owned small businesses. Buying local has THREE TIMES the impact on the local economy than buying from a big-box chain store or restaurant.

Trump tariffs lead to ‘stagflation’ concerns “Small businesses don’t have a voice in this, but we’ll probably incur the most financial harm,” Knapp told Statehouse Report on March 6. “They just don’t have the ability to absorb a massive tax increase, so they’ll have to increase prices, which most can’t, or cut employee hours and jobs.” https://lnkd.in/edMdgDvD

Any company that supports diversity can’t do business with SC under proposed law “Certainly the state of South Carolina can have an anti-DEI policy for the state, but we don’t believe that the state should be coercing private business about how they handle their HR policies,” said Frank Knapp of the South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce. “As long as HR and private businesses are not violating constitutional protections we just don’t need that. I mean, what’s next?” https://lnkd.in/eQ52uHyx

The Backbone Podcast: Episode 19?? How the legislature will deal with possible Medicaid cuts will be critical. Any new tariffs by the Federal government also threaten his farmers.
