We are incredibly proud to announce that the South Carolina Public Charter School District has been recognized as a Purple Star District! This honor reflects our commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families across our 44 diverse schools. Military children face unique challenges, from frequent moves to starting over in new schools and communities. The Purple Star program, offered by the Military Child Education Coalition? | MCEC?, helps ease these transitions by addressing both their educational and social-emotional needs, preparing them to be workforce and life-ready. The PCSD is proud to be the only statewide school district in South Carolina to achieve this recognition, standing united in our dedication to the motto: #KidsFirst. To all the military families who trust us with their children’s education, this is our way of saying: we’re here for you. ?? #PurpleStar #MilitaryFamilies #CharterSchools South Carolina Department of Education South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs

We envision a South Carolina where each child is academically equipped to reach their lifelong potential.
关于我们
The S.C. Public Charter School District (SCPCSD) was created through the South Carolina Charter School Act, passed by the S.C. General Assembly in 2005. The legislation created a legitimate avenue for parents, teachers, and community members to take responsible risks and create new, innovative, and more flexible ways of educating children within the public school system. The goal of charter schools is to encourage academic excellence, educational improvement, and cultural diversity in South Carolina. 38 schools serving approximately 17,500 students.

Today, on Veterans Day, we take this time to honor the men and women who have served our nation's armed forces, including those here in South Carolina—a state with a proud and sizable veteran community. Within our charter schools, we are privileged to support hundreds of veteran-connected families who understand the values of service, sacrifice, and commitment. Reflecting on this day, I'm reminded of General Dwight D. Eisenhower's words: "History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid." Our veterans, through their courage and resolve, have preserved the freedoms we cherish today. Their legacy lives on in each of our classrooms, where we strive to nurture resilience, integrity, and unity in the next generation. On this Veterans Day, let us honor the service of those who have given so much. May their dedication inspire us to carry forward the torch of service in our schools and our communities. - Chris G.
