?? We have an announcement! ?? We're thrilled to announce not one, not two, but THREE new capabilities in Chronosphere's Observability Platform! These features tackle some of the biggest challenges developers face when trying to keep containerized and microservices systems running smoothly—without the need for endless escalations and bridge calls. Here's the breakdown of each new capability: ?? Pinned Scopes and Change events allows developers to keep critical context throughout their troubleshooting workflows, and provides immediate context into performance changes. ?? DDx offers a powerful, intuitive & query-free workflow to quickly isolate service slowdowns or failures. ?? Chronosphere SLOs, currently in preview, is designed to make SLO adoption simpler, faster, and more effective in #microservices and #opensource environments. Curious to learn more? Wonderful to see?Bill Hineline included in Jason English's piece for SiliconANGLE & theCUBE, which talks about the ongoing shift for companies to become cloud native, and the resulting need for observability across the board. #observability #telemetry #cloudnative #KubeCon
Back from the excellent #KubeCon / #CloudNativeCon NA 2024 in crisp, clean SLC with my Intellyx article for SiliconANGLE & theCUBE. Making systems #AI ready was all the talk, even though it's just driving the same #scalability #interoperability #security concerns we already had for high #performance enterprise applications on #Kubernetes #Argo #Dapr #Linkerd #Cilium and other great #CNCF projects. Featured in this one: Diagrid, Mirantis, Cloud Foundry Foundation, Buoyant, EDB, Percona, Mezmo, Cribl, ControlTheory, Chronosphere, MinIO, Kusari, KTrust, ARMO, Isovalent, Speedscale. https://lnkd.in/gnSK94Qb

In a recent survey of ~130 people who are responsible for their organization's observability stack, we asked how much their log data has grown. The results? A 250% year-over-year growth on average. Sounds like a preeetty high bill. ?? Alas, sharing is caring. Riley Peronto shares 4 tips to reduce #logdata costs. Let's break 'em down! ? Tip #1: Route your data to multiple backends. Storing all of your logs in a centralized log management or #SIEM tool is too expensive. By moving datasets to new storage targets, you can seriously reduce your log management costs. ? Tip #2: Summarize the data you don't need in full fidelity. A lot of times, you don't actually need to ingest complete loglines to derive value from the data. Instead, you can summarize the data upstream to support your use cases (with a fraction of the total volume!) ? Tip #3: Reduce the size of your log records. When teams consume log data, only a fraction of the information may *actually* be useful. For example, you might find: ? Entire fields or key-value pairs that aren’t needed ? Punctuation that inflates logs ? Redundant or unneeded tags, such as pod_id and pod_name Pruning this content makes your logs less verbose. You're not dropping any loglines, your simply shrinking them to only the contents you need. ? Tip #4: Minimize cloud egress costs by pre-processing data locally. Most orgs generate terabytes of log data, and pay an "egress tax" on outbound data transfer to their centralized log management or SIEM solutions.Pushing processing upstream helps you reduce #Azure and #AWS egress costs by optimizing your data footprint within your environment! Now, you can optimize storage, summarize data and reduce your log size to say too-da-loo to those SIEM and log management costs. Woohoo! #cloudnative #observability
