We are thrilled to welcome Reezwana Chowdhury, MD, FACG to lead SAIA’s newly formed Membership Committee ?? Reezwana Chowdhury is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Specialist, with a focus on women's health and pregnancy and interest in intestinal bowel ultrasound. She is the Director of the upcoming Intestinal Bowel Ultrasound program at Johns Hopkins and the Director of the ‘Well-Being and Resilience’ committee of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division at Johns Hopkins. She has published articles on #pregnancy and #womenshealth in IBD. She is the Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the American College of Gastroenterology, actively involved with the ASGE and a member of the IBD special interest group. She serves as an Associate Editor of the journal, Crohn’s & Colitis 360. She has effectively combined her passion for patient care, #colorectalcancer awareness and running to organize several patient-physician events to enhance public awareness around #CRC. This #InternationalWomensDay, we are delighted to welcome Smruti Govan, J.D. to SAIA's Board of Directors! As a Legal Director of Human Rights & Sustainable Sourcing at PepsiCo, Smruti manages due diligence across the company’s supply chain and drives action against PepsiCo’s salient issues. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Smruti worked at PVH, the parent company to Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, where she oversaw the company’s global human rights program with a focus on women’s empowerment. She has previously worked for Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), where she helped manage their global digital and financial literacy program for 37,000 female supply chain workers, and for Bloomberg LP within their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data team. Smruti has a B.A. from Cornell University in Government and International Relations and a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
