This is Nurse Practitioner Week. South Arkansas Regional Hospital celebrates the incredible contributions of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who enhance patient care every day. For over fifty years, NPs have played a crucial role in prioritizing healthcare, impacting the lives of millions by assessing patients, ordering and interpreting tests, diagnosing, prescribing, and more. They deliver care with a blend of clinical expertise and a comprehensive approach prioritizing health management and wellness. NPs serve in various settings, including clinics, hospitals, urgent care centers, and private practices, adapting to meet evolving healthcare needs. This week, SARH joins the American Association of Nurse Practitioners? and the nation in honoring the more than 385,000 NPs who provide high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care. Thank you to our dedicated NPs for their commitment to excellence in healthcare! #nursepractitioner #SouthArkansasRegionalHospital #Healthcare

South Arkansas Regional Hospital held a heartfelt Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, bringing together nearly 50 hospital employees and visitors to honor veterans past and present. Hospital President Danna Taylor shared personal reflections on how Veterans Day has taken on new meanings for her over the years, especially as family members have served. The hospital's Chief Engagement Officer, Alphe Wells, spoke on the day's history, reminding everyone of its origins. Former Arkansas Senator Trent Garner, the keynote speaker, emphasized the significance of "service" in military life, shedding light on our military men and women's sacrifices, dedication, and shared experiences. Garner spoke about service's physical and mental toll, the time spent away from loved ones, and the ultimate sacrifices made to protect America's freedom. Union County Sheriff’s Office Captain Eric Meadows delivered a stirring a cappella rendition of the national anthem, and El Dorado Fire Department Chaplain David Bush closed the ceremony with a moving prayer. The day’s Veterans Celebration was thoughtfully arranged by Hospital Chaplain John Moore.

You’re invited to honor our veterans at a special Veterans Day recognition service on Monday, November 11, at noon in Conference Room 1 at South Arkansas Regional Hospital. We are privileged to welcome guest speaker U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Trent Garner, a former Arkansas legislator and distinguished Special Forces Green Beret. Senator Garner’s service includes two tours in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, during which he earned a Bronze Star with V device, Combat Infantry Badge, and Special Forces Tab. As a native of Magnolia, Senator Garner’s commitment to his state and nation is truly remarkable. A graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Arkansas Law School, he holds a Juris Doctor and a Master of Arts in Political Science. He practices law and lives with his wife, Kelly, and their two children in Magnolia. Join us in paying tribute to our veterans. #Veterans #SouthArkansasRegionalHospital #TrentGarner #SARH #Honor #Recognition

South Arkansas Regional Hospital (SARH) is hosting its 2024 Competency Fair on October 29 and 30 on the hospital's second floor. This annual event will see over 400 employees visiting more than 20 booths and workstations to ensure their skills and knowledge are up to state and industry standards. The fair is vital to SARH's commitment to professional growth and patient care excellence. The Competency Fair is designed to help nurses and other staff practice and demonstrate their skills, stay updated on new developments, and receive valuable feedback on their performance. It’s a practical way to close knowledge gaps, boost confidence, and build camaraderie among staff members. In addition to the hospital-led booths, a dozen or so outside vendors were present to ensure that healthcare professionals were aware of their services. These vendors included Arkansas Hospice, AROARA for organ donation, New Haven Recovery, addiction, Bully Prevention initiatives, SEPSIS Prevention education, Employee Health, and a Cath Lab Education station. Some managers got into the event's spirit by dressing up for Halloween, adding a touch of fun to the serious tasks at hand. The festive atmosphere lightened the mood, encouraged active participation, and fostered a sense of unity among attendees. After the fair, raffle prizes will be awarded, offering an extra incentive to engage fully. A big shout out to Mindy Morgan, Vicki Milam, Ashley Hodnett, and Mary Christa McClelland, who organized and produced this giant in-house event. #SouthArkansasRegionalHospital #CompetencyFair #medical #arkansas #Eldorado
