Reflecting on this year’s SOURCING at MAGIC show, I’m reminded of why it remains one of my favorite events to participate in. Each year, SOURCING at MAGIC grows its commitment to sustainability, constantly evolving to meet the demands of an ever-changing industry. This year, many of the designers and boutique owners who visited the Recycle2Riches booth were just starting out. They came with fresh ideas and a clear intent: to launch their brands on a sustainable path. Through life cycle analyses, we had the opportunity to show them what it truly means to design with the entire product journey in mind—from production to end-of-life. They left equipped with the tools to start their businesses on the right track, thinking about environmental impacts from day one. SOURCING at MAGIC provides more than just insight; it builds lasting connections to practical, sustainable solutions for closed-loop fashion. The panels at the Sustainability Lounge offered invaluable guidance for those looking to break the cycle of “take, make, waste” and move toward a cradle-to-cradle model. Together, events like this empower us to transform fashion, guiding emerging brands toward a future where sustainability isn’t an afterthought, but the very foundation of their work.
