Pretty darn excited to chat authentic branding, AI, and soup in NYC with the Behaviorally team at Quirks New York!
What do Shark Tank, soup, authenticity and AI have in common…come find out at Quirks New York ! Sara Polon
We offer hand-crafted, ready-to-eat, just good soup and more for people who want to do good for themselves and the world. Founded in Washington, DC in 2008 by a mother-daughter duo, our soups are a fusion of modern flavors and old-fashioned cooking techniques that highlight seasonal, fresh ingredients. At our core, we believe that the food system is broken. A new path is possible - one that includes responsible sourcing, respect for the planet, and most importantly, a healthy and valued workforce.

Hot off the presses... our new visual identity is LIVE!
When we launched this business fifteen years ago, the phrase “visual identity” was foreign to me. A logo! A label! A name! These are the terms I knew, or, had to teach myself (while reading Small Businesses for Dummies!). I had no idea about the importance of a company’s visual identity. I learned the hard way that leading with our brand wasn’t the right strategy. Soupergirl is not a household brand (yet!). We had to let the product shine. On a good day, CPG brands have approximately two seconds to capture a shopper’s attention. If they happen to notice a product, consumers take another three seconds to make their decision. So that label better be GOOD! Smart, simple, eye-catching, and memorable. There needs to be bold consistency across the brand. Because you literally have four seconds to get that first sale. With all that in mind, I’m so excited to debut the new Soupergirl visual identity. Designed by the extraordinary team at Make & Matter, this new design captures Soupergirl’s essence: Fresh, healthy, incredibly delicious, better-for-you and better-for-all. Our logo is sleeker, and, well, grown up! Our new tagline - Just. Good. Soup.-? much better captures what we’re trying to offer to the world. Great food. Sourced responsibly. With an eye towards food justice. We’re feeling extra optimistic about this new visual identity due to the incredible consumer data provided by the team at Behaviorally. The increase in consumer purchase intent noted in their tests makes me want to shimmy! You’ll start seeing our new brand roll out in stores everywhere over the next few weeks. Here we go! Thank you to SO MANY people - the list is large - but just a few... Attention Passover shoppers! Our menu is now live!
One of the things I'm proud of about Soupergirl is that we're a certified kosher company. There is a real lack of healthy, fresh options for kosher consumers. And now that the holiday of Passover is almost upon us, I'm excited to announce that the Soupergirl Passover Menu is now accepting orders. Everything is strictly kosher for Passover (under the Star-K). Nationwide delivery options are available! We offer Passover favorites and new takes on old classics. If you or anyone in your community are looking for fresh, healthy Passover options, please check out our menu! https://lnkd.in/d_x_9HGM

Did you catch our founder on FOX 5 DC this morning? Every day is a good day for soup! But especially a chilly Monday during National Soup Month!!
Nothing better than closing out National Soup Month than an appearance on Good Day DC on FOX 5 DC. While we embark on further expansion with Soupergirl, we remain forever grateful for the support of the Washington, DC area community. This will forever be our home, and we love cooking soup for our hometown crowd! Soup is definitely having a moment. And we're here for it.
Is this poetry? The beautiful prose that Bee Wilson at the The Wall Street Journal uses to describe soup is memorable and comforting in and of itself! Ms. Wilson describes soup much as Soupermom and Soupergirl did when they launched Soupergirl. Soup is more than food. It is memory. It is a hug from your mom. As Ms. Wilson writes, "I can't think of a more appealing delivery system for vegetables." Also, soup "has an amazing ability to make us feel full." And, "there is a reason why the popular self-help books are called 'Chicken Soup for the Soul.' Chiken Salad for the Soul doesn't have quite the same ring." Whether you love sipping gazpacho or slurping a lentil soup, let's all raise our spoon to SOUP!
Eat more soup. That, in a nutshell—or a soup bowl—would be my diet advice for anyone looking for a gentle way to happier eating, writes Bee Wilson.
Thank you, New York Times, for spreading the good word about SOUP in 2024! The Dish of the Year! We'd like to thank the academy and our mom and dad...
The Dish of the Year is Soup. Don't believe me - believe the The New York Times Food! "The Specialty Food Association’s trend spotters predict more soup and soup starter mixes on grocery shelves. And soup is yet one more way to soothe ourselves. “Honestly,” said?Jenny Zegler, Director of Mintel?Food and Drink, “I wouldn’t be mad if 2024 was the year of soup.”" We at Soupergirl are here for it. We're ready. Bring on the SOUP, 2024! https://lnkd.in/e9ywNKpx

2023 has been quite the challenge. Ups, downs, some "out of left field" kind of stuff, and more. But, ending the year with a big Soupergirl rollout at Costco Wholesale? Well, I'll take it. So damn proud of our team. What they have pulled off this month, deliciously, is the stuff of dreams. I am profoundly grateful to them. And to everyone on the east coast, let's get our soup on at Costco's from Miami through Boston!
