Meet our team! Abigail Pullen received her Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Alabama. Her favorite thing about being a music therapist is having the ability to connect with clients right off the bat. "They feel comfortable with you and trust that you’ve got their best interest at heart. It’s such a unique profession combining one’s personal love for music and the desire to serve those in our community." Soundwave is officially two years old! For those who don't know our founder and clinical director, meet Karen Howell. Karen has worked in a variety of settings including: in-patient psychiatric and substance use settings, outpatient pediatric rehabilitation clinics, ABA centers, and skilled nursing and memory care facilities. After gaining experience developing music therapy programs in a variety of settings, Karen decided to pursue her goal: beginning a private practice. Karen's personal music therapy passion lies most with pediatric medical complexities and developmental disabilities, particularly ASD. She serves as the Clinical Director of Soundwave Music Therapy, while continuing to practice in a variety of settings in the community.
