What's #radio's next move? Digital expansion, digging into #data, #local, and a lot more. Our own Mike Reznick and Michael S Fischer offer thoughts from last week's Radio Ink Magazine Forecast '25 show in NYC. Have a look ?? #audiosimplified #BadAaaS #events #digitalaudio #harvardclub #nyc
Michael S Fischer and I had the pleasure of attending Radio Ink Magazine's Forecast 2025 last week in NYC. While the radio industry is facing challenges, we walked away with a great deal of optimism about radio’s future role in the ever-expanding media landscape. The most exciting sessions focused on how radio can and must capitalize on innovation. Here are a few key takeaways from the conference. What do you think? LEAN INTO DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION: Your station’s audience listens to their favorite news, sports, music, and more across all of their devices. Meet them where they already are, and offer your content live and on-demand, just like we’re used to with all of our entertainment. DATA DATA DATA: Knowledge is power, and advertisers like it, too. From the connected car to using AI to analyze client call transcripts and post automatic blog posts, radio companies have access to more data than ever to satisfy advertiser requirements, as well as informing decisions for product roadmaps and customer features. ATTRIBUTION: The Chief Investment Officer of GroupM explained that the majority of their ad spend goes to media that can prove attribution. So, radio, let’s join that party. Your digital audience is extremely valuable and will drive results for brands; you just have to be able to prove it. LOCAL CONTENT IS KING: In a truly global society, your audience still loves that you are in their backyard, and the small and mid-sized owners really get this. Be available to them wherever they live their lives; wherever they listen to their news, sports and entertainment.
