Sound Town

Sound Town is an online program that teachers core literacy skills to the PreK class in 5 minutes a day. Only 1 in 3 fourth-grade students read proficiently. For most children this was entirely preventable if they were taught the foundational skills needed to read a few years earlier. Our goal is to dramatically narrow that pipeline of failed readers. So, with early literacy experts and educators, we built an engaging world of characters that makes it easy for teachers to shore up these foundational skills in a fun and developmentally appropriate way. Sound Town's development and research is funded by an Institute of Education Sciences Small Business Innovation Research Award (Phase I and II).
