After much debate, we did it. We put an offer on Fiverr. Last-minute holiday ads anyone? It’s wild how things come full circle. Flashback to 10 years ago—I’m in yet another Tuesday morning meeting during my radio days, bored out of my mind, dreaming of something bigger. Already crushing mornings in a medium-sized market but not ready to move because of family ties. I looked left at the GSM and thought, 'Nope, not for me.' Looked right at the GM and thought, 'Hard pass.' Fast forward to today, and now I’m both those roles rolled into one, plus a few more, but this time I’m the boss! It’s tough, messy, and absolutely not for everyone. But I kinda love it. Have you ever looked at the 'next step' in your career and thought, 'Nah, I’ll do it my way'? Life at Sound Spark is never boring, and yesterday was peak VO chaos in the best way possible! One of our favorite clients hit us with two projects—first, a revision on a tricky script (always love a redemption arc), and then a brand-new job from another client. Double the excitement! But of course, things can’t just go smoothly, right? Cue some car troubles that kept us out of the studio for a bit. No biggie. We got back, jumped into recording...and CRAP, there’s this weird popping sound all over the audio! (Pro tip: always double-check your settings.) After a quick fix and a late-night crash, we were ready to hit the ground running the next day. Alarm set for 7:30 AM, plenty of time to wrap things up and make our 9 AM Mastermind meeting. Except...we accidentally turned the alarm off and woke up at 8:30. ?? Priorities kicked in—clients over Mastermind any day. Halfway through, we messaged the group, only to find out the meeting is actually tomorrow - Classic.
