  • Feeling stuck in the same role while toughing it out can be soul-emptying. Its cool that your colleagues and management likes, and respects you but it would be even better if they paid you your worth; And even better than that? You leaving to find a company with greener pastures. You know…a company that has staff off sites you actually want to attend. A company that you get excited about reentering a hybrid work schedule for. …or 402k matching, benefits, mental health resources and a team that gets you and is AS motivated as you… Colleagues that you’re not always fixing their work. The job market can feel confusing; frustrating and scary but having a partner and job search focused coaching team in your back pocket is well worth the investment. Until you take that step by booking a consultation with our team, here are a few tips to get you there. Be kind to yourself. Be focused and add an end date to your resignation. Make sure you feel super proud about your resume; and if it isn’t performing ie you’re not getting interview requests from 40% of the applications you’re sending out then revisit and tweak it. Network and message folks at the companies you’re applying to. Have faith and if you don’t then ask “what else can I do..?” and go do it. Treat people well and respond warmly and with kindness to their messages. Don’t just ignore them if they say they can’t help. Thank them anyway. Take care of yourself - go on walks, eat good food, treat yourself to activities once per week that light you up. Create multiple resumes that fit the roles you will target. You’ll always have available to you our services, like our Search Renewal session that is currently half off through Womens Month. You’d meet with a member of my team to review your search ie resume, Linkedin profile, how you’re speaking about yourself and your role - all the things really to see where the bottle neck is. Would love to help you on your way. If you’d like to learn more or just book your session then feel free to here.

I had a tough time with this one because, as a recruiter, we want you to complete our take-home assignments. Really loving Dana Pelfini Hundley's approach on how to ask to be compensated. ?? Just remember that this is a dialog. As long as you're honest with the recruitment team about the other opportunities you're interviewing for and why the time commitment can't work for you, you may be pushed along in the process anyway. It has happened in my experience! Recruitment teams are honing their process, making sense of it, etc., so if enough candidates push back, we'll adjust. Again, I've shared that feedback with our hiring managers, and we've done it. Last note—if you've been up all night, several nights in a row, completing assignments, etc., and you'd just rather not, then I recommend biting the bullet and getting them done. You'll receive an offer at the end of it. And, if you have been on the market for longer than 3 months, going into 5/6, then you may want to jump on the phone with a recruiter or job search strategist. Soulwork and Six Figures, we're happy to help! You got this, friends! Thank you for featuring us InHerSight and Cara Hutto! Read the article (with scripts!) below:

  • Why Volunteering is Good for Your Job Search~ I know how easy it is to want to isolate, throw your phone on dnd, apply, and shut the world out when you're in a stressful job hunt, but we think it benefits you to add volunteering—and really any—out-of-your-normal-network-socializing to your strategy. Hear me out. Volunteering not only?puts your problems in perspective?but also allows you to meet new people. There's nothing wrong with sharing what you do for a living and?mentioning that you're currently in a job search. You could even take it a step further and?share you'd appreciate any tips or assistance?you could get. Some may feel that it is a bit more forward, but it really isn't. If you're working side by side with someone in a soup kitchen, instead of jumping on your phone during your break, offer a handshake and get to know the other volunteers. Connect with them on Linkedin and send a follow-up message ~ It was nice meeting you, and take it from there. *also, it's not like you're banking on these people to get you your next role -?it's more so like - you're doing every next right step you can - which includes pushing yourself squarely out of your - self isolate - woe is me "I'm screwed, mentality" that can come with a 3+ 6+ month job hunt. We talked more about it?here (linked in the comments). If you're ready to talk strategy and meet with a job search advisor to get your search sorted, meet with one of the Soulwork coaches. We'd love to assist. You go, this friend.???
