The seamless transmission of vehicular emergency incident data from a #robotaxi to a 9-1-1 center is achievable with existing technology. It's crucial to engage key stakeholders to address the obstacles hindering the real-time exchange of mission-critical data from a motor vehicle to a 9-1-1 center. Many thanks to Brian Tegtmeyer, ENP, Ty Wooten, ENP and many others working very hard to unite auto manufacturers, #robotaxi firms, telematics companies, wireless carriers, and 9-1-1 centers to eventually facilitate IP-based instantaneous transmission and receipt of vehicular emergency data from a motor vehicle to a 9-1-1 center to better inform emergency response. #technology #innovation #emergencyresponse #NG911

The chip, designed to link airbag deployments to 9-1-1 emergency services in real time, enables the dispatch of drone first responders (DFR) to crash sites in under 10 seconds, providing first responders with live situational awareness for faster, more effective emergency response. Emergency SOS Live Video will allow the sharing of streaming video and recorded media during emergency calls. During a call, participating emergency dispatchers will send you a request to share live video or photos over a secure connection, making it easier and faster to get the help you need. Every 911 telecommunicator will be able to access Apple Emergency SOS Live Video from within RapidSOS, which means over 5,700 911 Centers, covering over 99% of the US population!
