We had a great turnout for yesterday’s Grape Day event! This annual conference focuses on current research to provide support and resources to growers, vineyard owners,?and viticulture and enology industry professionals. Speakers covered topics ranging from soil health, applying kaolin clay to vineyards, using fungicide to protect pruning wounds, irrigation timing and its impact on yield quality, disease vectors in Southern Oregon, an update on the current work around Vine Mealybug, and using integrated management when dealing with Botrytis and Powdery Mildew. We’re delighted to announce #SORECOregonState's new Family and Community Health Program Coordinator, Daniela Garcia. Daniela holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Southern Oregon University, and has eight years of teaching experience at both the college and high school levels. For the past 11 years, Daniela has been deeply involved in volunteer and coordination roles for projects that support low-income communities. Her work has included developing and managing programs focused on health education, access to healthcare, and community empowerment. Collaborating closely with community leaders, healthcare providers, and local organizations, Daniela has implemented initiatives to address health disparities and promote overall well-being. Daniela’s comprehensive background in project coordination and bilingual communication skills enables her to effectively manage resources, build partnerships, and implement effective strategies for diverse populations.
