ANNOUNCING MARCH SOUTH PORTLAND BUSINESS OF THE MONTH! BECKY POTTERY Becky lives and works in her childhood home in Thornton Heights! Her ceramics studio includes 2 kilns and 2 wheels. She is a full time potter selling her wares at local fairs including year after year exhibiting at the Art in the Park event at Mill Creek and is also a member/owner at the Potters Market in Portland. Becky has strong relationships with the SoPo community whether artists, craftspeople, accountants, bankers and her own apprentices. Becky grew up here, learned her craft here, attended South Portland schools, USM and has raised a family. Becky makes everything she sells by hand herself. She gets much of her inspiration from nature found in her own backyard, the local beaches and sites. Her work features a signature 'horizon' glazing that is colorful, happy, and comfortable in the hand. It also lasts forever and brings meaning to customers' homes and workplaces. "Now a full time potter since 2016, I spend my work days in my home studio. Living in South Portland, I am surrounded by what inspires me most, the sky and land. Mostly where the two meet, at the horizon. When I’m not in the studio, I love to spend time with family (we have three teenagers) and two cats, work in my flower garden, canoeing with my husband Michael, read mystery crime novels, listen to podcasts and do yoga." ~Becky Wright For more information, visit her website: www.beckypottery.com
