The Sopel Foundation for Dyslexia mission is to provide financial and educational support, as well as early detection and intervention, that people with dyslexia deserve. Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability or disorder that includes poor word reading, word decoding, oral reading fluency and spelling. It is not affected by IQ (Einstein was dyslexic), however the absence of appropriate educational support to overcome dyslexia often negatively impacts a student's school and ultimately career success, as well as satisfaction in all areas of life. However, with early detection and diagnosis, dyslexics can receive appropriate interventions which will enable them to become successful readers and writers.

This guy here is Brent Sopel......... He is one of the sweetest guys I've ever met. He's also been in countless fist fights with other National Hockey League (NHL) tough guys, like himself. Brent is also dyslexic. Try telling him he's different, I dare ya! ?? Brent is so many things.....but today....... He's the guest on Hail Hail Auctions podcast "The Appeal." Being a lifelong Chicago Blackhawks fan, I've admired Brent a long time. I'm stoked he is joining me today! I mean he helped the beloved Hawks raise their first Stanley Cup since 1961 which, at the time, was the longest championship drought in the league! But now I REALLY admire him. Not only is he a Stanley Cup Champion and NHL enforcer..... But he also believes vulnerability is strength....
