That school year (1985-86), I happened to read an article in Seventeen Magazine on the topic of girls’ and womens’ underrepresentation in the STEM fields. That article did it for me. I set my sights on a college degree in engineering and have never looked back or regretted it." ????????????????????? ???????????? ?? ????????????????????:?"Almost every environmental problem boils down to an energy problem. Planet Earth has lots of water—but it takes energy to purify it, transport it, or collect it. We already know what it takes to avert excessive accumulation of climate-warming gases—but it takes energy to capture those gases, and it takes energy to power transportation, warm homes, and run businesses. I am optimistic that engineering and technology will play the heroes’ leading roles in mitigating a warming planet." On-Road Emissions Modeling Tool for Caltrans: CT-EMFAC ?? https://lnkd.in/guPUayDm Building on work completed over many years involving Sonoma Technology, U.C. Davis, and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), we continue to help Caltrans improve and expand the capabilities of the emissions modeling tool called CT-EMFAC. The tool quantifies on-road emissions of greenhouse gases (CO2e), criteria pollutants, and mobile source air toxics (MSATs) that originate from transportation projects. CT-EMFAC also estimates related electricity/fuel consumption to support energy assessments and enables users to develop inputs for near-road dispersion modeling with EPA’s AERMOD model.

Understanding Air Quality with Confidence ?? https://lnkd.in/gA7K_UTw Our latest publication with colleagues from NASA GMAO, Morgan State University, and Washington University in St. Louis, explores a cutting-edge framework for air quality estimation and forecasting that integrates data from models, satellites, and monitors. This method focuses on uncertainty quantifications and helps identify data gaps and improve decision-making. Testing shows promising results for nitrogen dioxide monitoring at sub-city scales, offering tools to support air quality management. We are currently validating these methods for real-time decision-making for select cities in the United States, South America, and Africa.
