In his newly released book, Reservations for Nine, author George Beauregard, DO, Chief Populational Health Officer at SoNE HEALTH shares his and his family's personal journey in confronting cancer. In his words the book is "about family, love, loss, science and spirituality."
With mixed emotions, I'm announcing that my book, RESERVATIONS FOR NINE: A DOCTOR'S FAMILY CONFRONTS CANCER, is now available for purchase from booksellers such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Writing this was a labor of love and grief that allowed me to connect with others who've also felt cancer's impact on their families--like NBC's Craig Melvin, who graciously provides the foreword to the book. RESERVATIONS FOR NINE is about family, love, loss, science, and spirituality. It provides a testimony to how my son, Patrick, then 29, responded to the life-threatening disease that is Stage IV Colorectal Cancer. While he succumbed at 32, his life shouldn't be defined by cancer but by how he responded to having it. Additionally, this book is an effort to raise much-needed awareness of the global phenomenon of the rising incidence of early-onset cancers. This emerging epidemic affecting younger adults is real and demands advancements in early detection and treatment. Although it's been sporadically covered by national news over the past year, the average person has little to no idea that this is occurring. It is my fervent hope that needless deaths can be avoided through early detection and treatment. Please consider reading the book and sharing it with family, friends, and colleagues, and encourage them to pass it along to their loved ones and people in their social circles.
