I am very proud to announce a bit of good news. Somos El Poder has reached 200 member organizations. The best way to support our Latinx community in these times is to strengthen the nonprofits that support them. Creating more diverse fundraising from our own communities is true community power. I am thrilled to join the 2024 cohort of La Vanguardia Academy Program with Somos El Poder. La Vanguardia program's project-based learning approach focuses on training the next generation of Latinx leaders in the non-profit sector and philanthropy. I'm passionate about expanding my knowledge and skills to better enhance my career in fundraising and philanthropic work. I look forward to learning alongside like-minded individuals committed to driving change in our communities. La Vanguardia's motto: 'Siempre Adelante!' (Always Forward!)

Last week I had the great privilege of attending a Latine fundraising conference curated by Somos El Poder. There is something electric about learning in community with fellow Latine leaders, all tackling different impact areas but all aligned in the same goal: helping improve the lives of Hispanic/Latino communities. Thank you to everyone at Somos El Poder who put together an action packed conference. Thank you for investing in the professional development of Latine leaders. If you are an organization supporting latine communities consider joining Somos El Poder and attending one of their fundraising conference.

I have spent the last 2 days in San Antonio at the incredible Somos El Poder Fundraising Con Ganas conference! What a great experience to be in a room full of committed and passionate individuals working for our Latinx and immigrant communities learning how to leverage our funds and relationships to create more impact for our people! Armando Zumaya thank you for putting on this amazing conference! Can’t wait to implement all that we’ve learned and get to work ??

It's ever so cool when HHM tributes include the fund development powerhouses!
