On MLK Day, we had the opportunity to volunteer at A Wider Circle in Silver Spring, Maryland, as a team at SolutionsMET. It was an incredibly rewarding experience and a perfect reflection of what we value as a company: community, teamwork, and giving back. At SolutionsMET, our culture is deeply rooted in the belief that we have a responsibility to uplift those around us and contribute meaningfully to our communities. Giving back isn’t just something we do—it’s a core part of who we are and what we strive to achieve. This sense of purpose drives us, and working together as a team amplifies the impact we can make. Our day at A Wider Circle was a great example of this. A Wider Circle helps families in need by furnishing 10-20 homes every day with quality furniture and household items, all provided free of charge. The day began with our team meeting in the lobby, where their dedicated staff walked us through the process of sorting, organizing, and restoring items. Their well-organized system made it easy for us to step in and contribute effectively. We spent the day working together to sort and prepare items so that families could shop for what they needed. What stood out to us most was how efficient and committed A Wider Circle’s team is in ensuring these resources reach the families who need them most. It was inspiring to witness and be part of their mission, even for just a day. What made this experience even more meaningful was doing it as a team. Collaborating allowed us to accomplish more and share in the joy of contributing to such an important cause. At SolutionsMET, we recognize that our collective efforts can make a greater impact than any one of us could alone. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back, not only to help families in need but also to strengthen the bonds within our team. According to the Health Care for the Homeless, each year in Maryland, more than 30,000 people experience homelessness (Homelessness in Maryland, 2023) and organizations like MCCH are vital in addressing this crisis. At SolutionsMET, one of our core values is to "Be Passionate and Care Deeply." Participating in team-building activities that support such a vital mission offers us a meaningful opportunity to step away from our daily virtual work, to come together in person, and build trust in a way that truly matters.
