SOLID is an employee-owned small business with over 20 years of experience providing policy research, analysis, and transformative information technology solutions for numerous government and private sector clients. SOLID’s work centers around enhancing our nation’s military and civilian workforce by strengthening career pathways, guiding skill attainment, and improving communication of worker skills and abilities with a heavy emphasis on workforce development initiatives that ensure equitable outcomes for all learners and individuals. SOLID has done work in this area for numerous federal and state government agencies, as well as private sector, non-profit organizations, and foundations. Over the course of their 15-year partnership with the Department of Defense, SOLID has provided the technical skills, subject matter expertise, and analysis to develop critical web-based platforms like MilGears, which is powered by the military Services’ Credentialing Opportunities On-Line (COOL) on-line, also developed by SOLID. The verified credential technology included in MilGears was showcased by the CEO of Microsoft in the keynote for the Microsoft Ignite 2020 world-wide conference as a transformational tool utilizing Web 3.0 technologies to improve the transparency behind all types of learning.
