?? SOLID is proud to be an SVN Partner and support this incredible initiative that is creating more inclusive ways to value skills gained through work and life experiences. We're excited to check out Education Design Lab's Virtual Showcase on October 10th, and dig into the Network's innovative prototypes and key findings shared in the report. ?? Looking forward to the next phase of this important work! ?? #SkillsValidation #SkillsEcosystem #SOLID #SVNPartner
Okay friends and colleagues, I am just beaming today. ?? We've just led a ?? celebratory retrospective ?? of the first year (really 22 months, no big deal) of the Skills Validation Network. I am in awe of what this Network was able to accomplish, as co-designers, as collaborators, from our respective seats in over 15 organizations across the skills ecosystem. It was the true definition of rolling up our collective sleeves to tackle a wicked issue - the need for more and better ways to validate the skills of ?? STARs ??, ways which value skills gained through their work and life experiences. ?? The first image below shows the Network's Design Arc, and all the tools and touchpoints we generated along the way. ?? The second shows our stakeholder engagement efforts, as we had STARs, employers, and career counselors engaged as co-designers throughout the process. And now... three exciting announcements! ?? ??? Education Design Lab will be facilitating a public Virtual Showcase of this work -- October 10 | 11-12pm ET. Keep an eye on LinkedIn and your inboxes for more details! ?? In support of this event, we'll release a companion report providing an overview of the Network's innovative skills validation prototypes, findings from our stakeholder research, and potential next steps. ?? And finally, the Skills Validation Network will "re-launch" this fall for our next phase of exploration! We invite all who are interested in engaging to reach out. Thanks so much to Walmart.org, Patti Constantakis and Sean Murphy for your support of this important work. ?? Thanks also to the Lab's SVN core team Meghan Raftery, Nishita Chheda, Faby Gagne, Ph.D., and Naomi Boyer, along with the Lab's Design Practice team, Miriam Swords Kalk, McKenzie Paterson, Elisabeth Fellowes, and Courtney Bell, for your significant contributions! ?? Last week, our CEO Lisa Lutz represented SOLID at the Task Force Movement (TFM) Summit, diving deep into the conversation about "Natural Transitions." This summit, hosted by The American Legion, explored innovative ways to facilitate moving highly qualified transitioning service members and veterans into in demand jobs in the civilian workforce. As a TFM Board member, Lisa engaged with other leaders and experts in the field, sharing insights and strategies to improve transition outcomes as part of SOLID’s commitment to enhancing veteran support and leveraging collective expertise to drive meaningful change. ? A huge thank you to The American Legion for organizing such a valuable event and to all the attendees for their contributions. Together, we’re working towards a brighter future for those who’ve served. #SOLID #VeteranSupport #TransitioningVeterans #TaskForceMovement #TheAmericanLegion #LeadershipInAction #ASOLIDTeam
