My LinkedIn posts are often shameless - but honest - promotions of what a fantastic organisation Aviva is to work for. We also have a brilliant nationwide (growing) network of vehicle damage repair centres - Solus - an Aviva company and today I visited their new Sheffield site. Warning - shameless plug incoming for the very fabulous Solus! The level of skill that the teams at Solus have and their passion to get our customers back to normal, with care, but as quickly as possible is breathtaking. Watching the technicians doing paintless damage repair, filling holes in plastic bumpers (badly on my part - check out my best concentrating face) or creating the right colour paint was absolutely fascinating. Great skill, great technology, brilliant training and a relentless focus on the customer coming together in the most fabulous way. And the Solus teams are fanatical about offering brilliant careers too starting from grassroots level with internships, partnering with Unifrog… and they currently have 76 apprentices in the business. Next week at the The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Awards, Solus have very deservedly been shortlisted in the championing diversity category - good luck team - I’m rooting for you. Massive thanks again for a fabulous visit. With a particular shout out to Karen Waseem Georgina Victoria Clare Jessica Steven Mike Dean and the entire Sheffield team. And finally… the overwhelming vote today was that pineapple on a pizza is wrong but tuna on a pizza is wronger!

?? 45 YEARS OF SERVICE ?? A huge congratulations to Solus Basingstoke customer consultant, Gary Neat, who recently celebrated four and a half decades of service. ? Our longest-serving colleague, Gary started his journey at Webbers Land Rover in 1980. He began his career as an apprentice paint technician at Webbers, and when it was bought by Solus, stayed with the company. ? Over the past 45 years, he has helped get thousands of our customers back to normal. We recently gave Washington and Gateshead South MP, Sharon Hodgson, a tour of our newest site, Solus Washington! Showcasing the latest equipment and state of the art facilities, we also demonstrated how we look after our customers and get them back to normal. During Sharon's visit we talked about how we are part of the Aviva group and detailed some of the challenges facing the wider industry, and how Solus is helping to tackle these issues. At Solus, we have an incredible team of Engineers located across the country, working hard to help our customers.? All Solus engineers served a recognised motor trade apprenticeship and hold a level three qualification in motor vehicle subjects. They also have specialist knowledge that enables them to assess all class of vehicles and all Solus Motor Engineers hold accreditations that assist them in assessing vehicle damage and categorising motor vehicle salvage.
