Solterra Materials will be closing all of its facilities on Friday, December 6th to celebrate and show our employees our appreciation for all of their hard work and dedication. There's a lot of weight on an Asphalt Plant Operator’s shoulder. Zamy here, although he ALWAYS stays calm and collected, has a number of HIGH-RISK factors that he has to deal with on a daily basis. He has to operate computerized controls in order to produce QUALITY asphalt mixtures, oversee the loading of HOT asphalt into trucks that come in by the HUNDREDS, make sure plant operations stay in compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and it doesn't end there. If everything is running as it should then Zamy is a happy man. Unfortunately, life isn't always smooth sailing, so when things go wrong, Zamy and the rest of the team have to troubleshoot the equipment issues. And they're not dealing with minor bells and whistles, they're maintaining ENORMOUS dryers, burners, screens, conveyors, and mixers. So next time you meet an Asphalt Plant Operator, make sure not to give them a hard time, they have enough on their plate to deal with. But of course, It's nothing they can't handle.
