Eliminating these programs will: ?? Leave workers – including children – more vulnerable to forced labor and exploitation. ?? Silence efforts by working people to improve their working conditions peacefully, by removing the only U.S. support for grassroots rights-based efforts. ?? Ignore the root causes of migration: poverty wages, trafficking and unsafe work that fuel desperation, displacement and instability. ?? Undercut both U.S. and global workers by enabling a race to the bottom, where exploitation abroad lowers standards for everyone, hurting families no matter where they live. #Solidarity #WorkerRights

We don’t just support worker rights – we help workers turn those rights into reality. We provide the training, resources and legal support workers need to push for fair pay, demand safe working conditions and ensure they are treated with respect. #Solidarity #WorkerRights #1u #WorkersUnite

In 2021, state-organized forced labor - including child labor - in Uzbekistan’s cotton sector ended. Since then, workers have been organizing for fair wages, safe conditions and a real voice on the job - creating a path for Uzbekistan cotton products that benefit working people, brands and the global market. But with a key program now halted due to a loss of U.S. Department of Labor funding, progress is at risk. When workers have the power to shape their own futures, economies thrive and societies become more just. This work must continue. ??????? #WorkerRights #FairWork #1u #Solidarity

Wherever workers are silenced, mistreated or denied their rights, we stand with them – because when workers have the power to improve their own lives, democracy is stronger, economies grow and society becomes more just for everyone. Learn more about our work at solidaritycenter.org.
