Life-Changing Surgery. Transformative Mission.

关于我们

In a spirit of mutuality, we build a healthier future alongside the people of Bolivia and Paraguay through domestic and international partnerships. We train and equip local medical communities, empowering them to provide high-complexity surgery and other health care for those living in poverty. Our vision is to transform lives by promoting solidarity and justice through experiences of service and healing. We believe that saving a life and alleviating suffering can sustain families and strengthen communities.

  • Today, on International Women’s Day, we honor the incredible contributions of the women who make our work possible. We celebrate the female medical providers who donate their time and expertise to provide life-saving care in Bolivia and Paraguay, and share their knowledge through training the next generation of medical professionals. We recognize the women of our sister organization, Puente de Solidaridad, whose compassion and support help guide patients through every step of their healing journey—logistically and emotionally. We are grateful for our all-female Solidarity Bridge staff team, who works tirelessly to ensure the sustainability of our programs We also thank the Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach for their generous donations of medical equipment. Our gratitude extends to our dedicated female medical translators who bridge communication between U.S. and Bolivian teams, and the female Bolivian doctors who volunteer their time to care for low-income patients on campaigns throughout the year. Finally, we honor the women on our board and among our donors, whose support makes all this possible. Thank you to all the women who help us transform lives and build healthier communities! • Lent is a time that invites us to transform our lives; an opportunity to open ourselves to all of the new things God has in store for us. By joining together as a community of solidarity, we pray that all of us might experience God’s healing and transformation throughout this holy season. Solidarity Bridge seeks a just, compassionate, and interdependent world, where the health needs of those most vulnerable are prioritized and medical professionals have the necessary resources to serve their communities. Your solidarity and almsgiving this Lent provides critical equipment donations to hospitals, access to surgical care for patients, and medical training to surgeons in Bolivia and Paraguay. • As the Solidarity Bridge organization contemplates recent events at the national level, we reflect deeply on the meaning of the word “solidarity.” This value lies at the heart of our work, is reflected in our name, and has served as the core motivating principle of our mission for over 25 years. Rooted in Catholic social teaching, we seek a just, compassionate, and interdependent world, where the health needs of those most vulnerable are prioritized. Out of these values, we feel called to speak about the recent US cuts to foreign aid, international cooperation, medical research, and global healthcare funding, which threaten essential services while undermining efforts to prevent and respond to health crises, in the low-income regions in which we work and around the world.
