To Our Veteran Community, It is with the greatest pleasure that Soldiers to Civilians (StC) welcomes Desiree Bearden to our team as Director of Operations. Desiree brings us her personal yet professional touch, tremendous work ethic, military experience and advocacy for veterans and military spouses. At Levi Strauss, Desiree spearheaded operational efficiencies and promoted cross-functional collaborations across leadership, management, operations, analytics, strategy, logistics, and finance, with a key focus on employee relations and human resources. In her military service, Desiree enhanced supply chain, operations, and logistics processes, utilizing a disciplined approach to problem-solving in high-pressure environments. Desiree’s notable work in Washington’s and Michigan’s veteran communities contributed to supportive and inclusive environments amplifying veteran voices and issues. Her dedication to, and advocacy for, military spouses and veterans through community engagement aligns perfectly with Soldiers to Civilians (StC)’s mission: better assist veterans, and their families, transition to civilian life, jobs, careers and communities. Desiree’s family is deeply rooted in military service. Her father, a proud Marine, instilled the value of discipline and commitment. Her uncle is a Vietnam veteran while her two younger brothers, both enlisting at 17 in the Marine Corps, all continue the family tradition. One brother continues to serve as a diesel mechanic at Camp Pendleton while the other finished his service, as a paralegal, and prepares for a legal career. Desiree’s enlisted later in life, and excelled, in part due to mentorship she received from many of the soldiers she encountered during her service. While deployed to Kosovo, Desiree met her husband, a critical care flight paramedic. Today, she is honored to support her husband as a military spouse, bringing values and experiences from her service into every aspect of her life.
