BG Phil Kiniery, Director Soldier Lethality CFT: No longer will we hang things on them like we hang things on a Christmas tree. In some cases, we’re giving our forces redundant capabilities at the squad level, the platoon level, and the company level. Is that necessary, effective, and efficient? In some cases, the answer will be yes, and in some cases no." https://lnkd.in/eqwFkkZn

关于我们
The Soldier Lethality Cross Functional Team was established in 2019 to pursue the combat capabilities necessary to achieve and sustain overmatch against enemy forces. The concept of enhancing Soldier lethality necessitates a strategic focus on the needs and fundamental functions of the 21st Century Soldier in respect to direct fire, maneuver and mobility, communications, and protection. The SL CFT’s approach is unique in that it treats the Soldier and the squad as an integrated combat system and addresses these requirements in development of capabilities that enhance the performance, lethality, and survivability of the Close Combat Force. SL CFT efforts focus on enhancing the lethality and survivability of specific elements within the Close Combat Force, those five MOSs (Infantry, Cavalry Scouts, Combat Engineers, Forward Observers, and Combat Medics) who close with and destroy the enemy. The CCF has historically borne 90 percent of combat casualties in U.S. engagements since WWI. The SL CFT institutionalized a Soldier Centered Design (SCD) strategy in all efforts that converge to kit the Close Combat Force holistically, employing a ‘common sense approach’ to equipping.
