Soiltech in action! Our weather station add-on is a cost-effective way to get pinpointed weather data, including temperature, rain, humidity, and wind speed.
I was just talking to a Soiltech Wireless, Inc. customer in Georgia. The point of the call was to talk about the Soiltech Beacon as a weather station. There are no public weather stations in his county, so he's helping to build a network for his grower clients to get more accurate weather data, including wind speeds. I'd assumed wind speed was important to him for spray timing, which it is. ? But what I didn't think about was how it will impact his irrigation recommendations. ?? This agronomist plans to use the wind speed function of the Soiltech Beacon weather station add-on to help time his overhead irrigations when it's not so windy that they'll experience water loss. ??? ?? Being from California, I don't put a whole lot of thought into overhead irrigation systems, but that makes perfect sense to me.
