Soil Consultants, Inc. is a SCDOT-Certified Woman-Owned Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. Since 1951, Soil Consultants, Inc. has been incorporated in the State of South Carolina and providing engineering and testing services throughout the southeast. Soil Consultants, Inc. offers Geotechnical Engineering Services, Construction Materials Testing, Non-Destructive Testing, Environmental Consulting, in addition to Chapter 1 and Chapter 17 Special Inspections as required by the International Building Code. In keeping with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) guidelines, Soil Consultants, Inc., is under the direct supervision of professional engineers and geologists. Our staff members and technicians are certified through the National Institute for Civil Engineering Technologies (NICET), American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), Asphalt Institute, American Welding Society (AWS), American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), SCDOT and Troxler. Our Construction Materials Laboratory is a certified Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) as well as an Asphalt Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) through National Institute of Standards and Technology. In addition, we hold certifications from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (SCLLR), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the United States Navy.

Yesterday marked a monumental milestone for the Low Battery Seawall Repair. The last piece of the Low Battery Seawall was removed to make way for the new Battery Seawall to better protect the City against rising tides and future storm surge. Gulf Stream Construction has completed Phases 1, 2, and 3, and is currently underway with the fourth and final phase which is on schedule to be complete in the Spring of 2025. ? We greatly appreciate our partnership with The City of Charleston, JMT, all those involved to reach this point. We wanted to take a moment to brag for #wicweek2024! Pictured are the ladies of SCI that keep us moving. Allaire Webster (left) and Sarah Harris (right) work in our main office as project administrators. They work hard daily to ensure reports and invoices are sent out, assist with proposal preparation, as well as handling the daily office operations such as AP and payroll. Lastly, Ms. Audrey Chubb (center) celebrates her 34th year with SCI this year. Ms. Audrey started as a testing technician over three decades ago and has been SCI’s CMT Department Manager and Laboratory Manager for over 25 years. Ms. Audrey’s dedication to the industry is unmatched! We thank these amazing women for their contributions to the industry and for making SCI who we are today! #wicweek #womeninconstruction
