A Family Tradition of Customer Driver Success

关于我们

Sofo Foods is the largest ethnic food distributor in the Midwest. We are family owned and operated, and have been for over 50 years. Our roots are in Italian food, but we supply a variety of quality food products to all types of restaurants. Our commitment to quality and service are unparalleled in our industry. Sofo Foods started in the early 1940's when Antonio Sofo began to service the growing Italian community of Toledo. Since Italian foods were not available in the Toledo area he would travel to Detroit to purchase cheese, salamis, pasta and bread. He would deliver these products to his customers from the back of a single truck. Antonio's son Joe joined his father's business after returning from the Service. Joe soon realized the company's potential for growth. His vision and dedication helped make the company what it is today. Today we're in our third generation of family ownership and management. Mike and Joe Jr. carry on the traditions of the past 60 years. Sofo Foods has grown to be the largest ethnic food distributor in the Midwest. We have three distribution centers, our corporate office in Toledo, Ohio, Suwanee, Georgia, and Houston, Texas. We now have a fleet of trucks that deliver to restaurants and pizzerias in 17 states and we have over 350 dedicated employees. A lot has changed over the years, but commitment to quality products and the highest levels of customer service have never wavered. We strive to be the very best!

No Toxic Zone ????♂? As a leader, it's your job to protect your team from toxic behaviours — or better yet, prevent them from creeping in at all Dora Vanourek was bang on ???? The bar for a toxic work environment is lower than you might think. If you’re seeing any of the following, toxicity is already taking root: * Drama * Overwork * Bureaucracy * Office politics * Unfair policies * False urgencies * Meaningless tasks * Unrealistic deadlines * Constantly shifting priorities * Top-down micromanagement I’ll admit, I’ve seen one or two of these pop up both recently and in the past, thinking it was just part of the game. It’s tough, especially in the early stages of a business when everything feels urgent and resources are tight. Balancing it all can seem impossible, but it’s crucial to build with the end in mind. No perks can fix the damage caused by chronic overwork, unrealistic demands, and unclear paths. Your influence as a leader extends beyond the office; you shape your employees' well-being both at work and at home. Create a culture where high performance doesn’t mean burning people out. Instead of relying on quick fixes like meditation apps or therapy sessions, make sure your people feel seen, heard, and genuinely valued. Your team is a reflection of the environment you create. Start building the right one now, even if it’s challenging, so it supports them as your business grows. ??Dora Vanourek ??Eric Partaker
