Networking, headshots, and our professional development speaker Nicole Tingler who lead a candid and engaging discussion on working motherhood, the choices we make and challenges we face as we navigate decisions surrounding our families and careers. Why yes, that is a paper rocket on the 2nd story windowsill! Today we celebrated Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day with a SWE breakfast with the amazing 4th grade girls of AJ Whittenberg Elementary School, where we built and launched paper rockets. The cold snow flurries outside had us decide to test our indoor height limits, with some rockets finding interesting trajectories that made for great discussions on nose and fin angles. A huge congratulations to our Western SC SWE Award winners! Our Section Treasurer, Sandra Kolvick, PE (left) received the Society of Women Engineers Distinguished Engineer Award! Jasmine Creswell (right) from Clemson received the Outstanding Collegiate Member Award! Congratulations to Sandra and Jasmine! They are so deserving of these recognitions!

Applause to SWE HeForSWE Affinity Group and their great #we24 panel session featuring our Section President Ashley Wynne who shared about how male allies can make a difference for women in engineering, highlighting the latest data where the numbers are going down… we have work to do! Happily the conference theme is Together We Rise!
